On the Iliamna River. Hooked into a big Rainbow Trout. I'm in 2 feet of water. About 30 feet in front of me is

a ledge that drops off to about 15 feet deep. Rainbows sit on the deep side of the ledge and wait for Salmon eggs to come

drifting down. We cast up stream on the shallow side of the ledge and let an egg imitation drift down stream over the ledge.

Hang on when these fish hit, they are wild (no hatchery fish) and strong!
