Part of the job is to make sure the client doesn't end up on his ass in the water. It happened a few times. They usually say they are

all right when they are crossing. You don't want to hold their hand an insult them. The next thing you know SPLASH! they are down

and wet. Nobody gets real mad. It's usually good for a laugh especially if they have buddies around.
